When you open this freeware, you will discover that there are three recovery modules listed on the main interface. When and how to use the recovery modules to recover iPhone data free? You can find the answers in part 3.

Part 3: How to Retrieve Data from iPhone Free with This Software

If you have made an iTunes and iCloud backup files before you delete the important data on iPhone, you’d better give priority to the following two ways to retrieve your iPhone data from backup.

Hope you all know that with this freeware, you are allowed to recover one type of data each time.

Way 1: Retrieve iPhone Data from iTunes Backup File

Generally speaking, you are not allowed to open and use iTunes backup file directly. But with this software, you can extract the important iPhone data from the backup, and use these data immediately. This is magic.

Besides, due to the comprehensiveness and completeness of iTunes backup file, Recover from iTunes Backup File module is the first recommended way among all these three recovery modes.

As long as there is available iTunes backup file, you are able to use this module to recover your lost iPhone data free.

Notice: The target iTunes backup file should be stored on the computer you are going to use. If not, you can copy that iTunes backup file to your computer.

Step 1: Select Recover from iTunes Backup File module from the main interface, and then the iTunes backup files will be shown in front of you automatically.

It is possible that there is more than one iTunes backup file on the interface. In this case, you can choose the one you want to recover by distinguishing from their different Name, Latest Backup Date and Serial Number. Then click on the Scan button.

Some users reflect that they can’t find their wanted iTunes backup file on this interface, but they are sure the target backup file is saved on the computer. If you also encounter this issue, don’t worry.

In theory, this software is able to voluntarily get the iTunes backup files from the default storage path appointed by iTunes application. So, if the target iTunes backup file is stored on another path, you can find and add it on the interface manually by pressing on the blue button Select.

Step 2: After the scanning process, this software will show you the scanning results as follows. The left side is the data types’ list. If the mark of data type is in light blue, it means there are scanned data on it.

For instance, if you want to recover the deleted iPhone notes, just choose Notes from the list, and then all the scanned notes will be displayed here including existing and deleted items.

However, you can switch the upper side button OFF to ON to display the deleted items only. You can click on them one by one and preview them. Then, choose the items you want to retrieve and press on Recover button.

Step 3: There will be the first pop-out window. You can choose to save the recovered data to the software’s default storage path, or you can also click on Browse to select another path.

Way 2: Restore iPhone Data From iCloud Backup File

If you have available iCloud backup file rather than iTunes backup, you’d better try Recover from iCloud Backup File module, which enables you to download the data and files in iCloud backup to the computer.

Due to the limitations of iCloud, this software is unable to get iOS 9.0 and the later versions’ iCloud backup files.

Step 1: Press on Recover from iCloud Backup File, type in your Apple ID and Password, and then click on Sign In.

Step 2: iCloud backup files will be listed on this interface. Here, you can select your wanted iCloud backup by judging from their Name, Latest Backup Date and File Size. Then, click on the DownLoad button.

Step 3: In this step, you are able to choose the data types you want to download, and then click on the Confirm button. This design will save a lot of time for you if it is unnecessary to download all data and files.

Step 4: After the downloading process, you will also see the results interface with the selected data types’ mark in light blue. The rest steps are very easy, and you can refer to step 2 and step 3 of way 1.

Added Information: This recovery module has a special design which can keep the downloaded results for you if you have used this recovery module before.

Thus, once you want to use these downloaded data again, you can click on Load Downloaded Files button, and then click on Start Scan on the next interface to use these files again. This design prevents you from doing repetitive works and saves you a lot of time.

In case that there is no available backup file, way 3 will tell you how to recover iPhone data without backup.

Way 3: Recover Data from iPhone Directly

This way refers to the Recover from iOS Device module which can scan your iPhone and display all data in front of you on the results interface, including deleted and existing data.

If there are no available iTunes and iCloud backup files, you can use this way to get your lost important iPhone data back.

To make this module work smoothly, you have to install the latest iTunes application to your computer.

You’d better stop using your iPhone as soon as possible when you discover that the important data are deleted by mistake, otherwise, those deleted data will be unrecoverable once they are overwritten by new data.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to the computer and then open this software. This software can detect the device automatically, and then display it on the software interface. Then click on the Scan button to continue.

If it is the first time for you to connect the device to the computer, there will be an interface as following. To make this software detect your device successfully, you should make the device trust this computer by pressing on Trust.

Step 2: It will take some minutes to finish the scanning process. After that, you will also enter the results interface. The rest operations are the same with way 1 and way 2, and it is unnecessary to repeat them here.

With these three ways, you are able to recover your lost iPhone data to your computer, and you can even use them directly.

As for iPhone data recovery, you should also know this point: once you delete the iPhone photos/videos permanently, these deleted items will be wiped from the device forever and no iPhone data recovery software has the ability to recover them from your iPhone directly. MiniTool Mobile Recovery for iOS is not an exception.

Here, I introduce you two useful articles if you want to recover your deleted iPhone photos and videos:

If you are using Mac OS, you can use software’s Mac version. Its operation interface is similar to the Windows version (see the following picture), and the recovery process is the same.

After reading these three ways, you will see that this freeware is magic in iPhone data recovery field.

But at the same time, you should also know that there is one disadvantage in the free edition: you are not allowed to recover your deleted or lost iPhone messages and WhatsApp messages with it.

An advanced edition can break this limitation.

Part 4: Bonus Tips

1. From part 3, you can see that way 1 and way 2 is based on the previous iTunes and iCloud backup files. Thus, you will realize the importance of making iTunes and iCloud backup, and updating them regularly to make it keep pace with the newest data on your iPhone.
