We use Computer Mouse for quicker Navigation and keyboard for typing characters while surfing the Internet. On our desktop screen, we used to arrange the shortcuts to the most useful applications. Instead of searching for applications in the System search bar, we just double click on the shortcut of the applications to open it.

Let's assume you opened a web browser. You will begin searching for a keyword using the keyboard. When you've opened several tabs or windows, mostly you will use your mouse or touchpad for navigation. 

The most common keyboard shortcuts that we use every day are listed below: 

  • Ctrl + A ------> Select All
  • Ctrl + C ------> Copy 
  • Ctrl + X ------> Cut
  • Ctrl + V ------> Paste
  • Ctrl + Z ------> Undo
  • Ctrl + Y ------> Redo

There are many advantages over using the Keyboard Shortcuts. I'm going to list out few big advantages here:

  • It saves a lot of time. You don't need to stress yourself to use your mouse or touchpad for any kind of navigation.
  • You could complete your work faster than others.  
  • It would be very useful for people who work in a fast paced environment. Example: IT/ITES Employees. 
  • Continuously using the mouse may damage your wrist. To prevent this, prefer keyboard shortcuts.
  • It improves the user experience in browsing the web pages.
  • A good knowledge of Keyboard Shortcuts will make you a unique and talented person.

The only disadvantage of using Keyboard Shortcuts is that you will slowly forget using your mouse :)
